Operations & Finance Manager (Full-Time)

Position Overview:

Seeking a qualified person to oversee and manage GCCC’s operations and finances. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that Great Commission Community Church (GCCC) operates in an efficient, conscientious and effective manner and is expected to be extremely organized and a strong collaborator. He/she will be expected to work well with a team but also work independently.

Position Qualifications and Skills:

  1.  Required:
    a.   Committed to Christ and to the mission of GCCC. Understands and fits the value and culture of GCCC.
    b.   Believes administration and management is a vital area of ministry and sees it as one’s calling. History of work/volunteer experience should validate this calling.
    c.   Highly organized and detailed-oriented, track record of successful planning and execution of events or programs.
    d.   Strong interpersonal skills and able to take direction
    e.   Flexible & can adapt to different environments
    f.   Ability to multi-task and work efficiently on concurrent multiple projects
    g.   Ability to anticipate future needs to facilitate successful planning/scheduling
    h.   Ability to take initiative and prioritize projects
    i.   Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
    j.   Proficiency Google G-Suites
    k.   Maintains confidentiality
    l.   Willing to work some evenings and weekends
    m.  Some finance/accounting experience
    n.   Able to use (or learn) Quickbooks Online to do administrative tasks
    o.   Design and video shooting/editing are a bonus but not required

Ministry Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management
    a.   Manage the church operations, events and calendar
    b.   Provide executive and administrative support for pastors, staff and church leaders
    c.   Manage communications strategy (e.g. bulletins, weekly mailchimp, webpage, facebook, etc.)
    d.   Plan and provide support on special projects and events such as church retreats and picnics
    e.   Manage facility space and usage (Marshall HS, DoubleTree Hotel, Make Office and various other churches, venues, etc.)
    f.   Oversee, manage, and direct multi-media and GCCC online presence including website, facebook, twitter, etc.
    g.   Identify and manage new church management system to help assist with coordinating volunteer schedules. Training lay leaders in the use of the church management system.
  2. Finance Management
    a.   Assist with onboarding new staff, setting-up insurance, retirement and payroll accounts
    b.   Manage expense reimbursements, including writing checks and coordinating signatures/approvals from various church leaders
    c.   Manage credit card itemization for church staff and identify finance software to help with streamlining expense reports and credit cards.
    d.   Pay and manage regularly scheduled church bills (hotel, school rentals, and church rentals)
    e.   Attend monthly finance team meeting and provide monthly financial reconciliation report
    f.   General QuickBooks management (budget monitoring, running payroll/taxes, etc.) and creating periodic QuickBook analysis reports
    g.   Support annual budget development process
    h.   Support/assist in yearly giving statement generation and distribution
    i.   Support with yearly and quarterly tax filings
    j.   Act as staff liaison with the Finance Team on ad-hoc issues
    k.   Perform weekly duties as necessary (e.g. bank deposits, counting offering, etc.)

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate upon experience.
