Our children’s ministry is called God’s Garden as we seek to weekly nourish the hearts of the children in the Word and experience of God as they grow in knowledge, love, and fruitfulness.
We believe that childhood as a precious and critical time for children to develop (and even begin) their faith journey. We want to take every opportunity to share God’s gospel story of redemption and love through worship, teaching of the Word, community, and fellowship with both their peers and teachers.
Our mission is to partner with families to make disciples of Christ who:
K– Know the Gospel Experientially
I– Invest in Community
D– Develop their Faith Together
S– Serve Others
Our values are:
- Gospel-centered spirituality- We believe that we should strive to keep the story of God’s salvation through Jesus central to every teaching.
- Holy Spirit dependency- We want to create an environment so the Holy Spirit can do His work amongst us as we learn to depend on Him for all things.
- Community- We believe that church is a great place for the children to understand the impact and importance of being in Christ-centered relationships with their peers. We especially seek the formation of these friendships through our classes and small groups.
- Generosity- We want the children to learn how to give their time, talents, and treasures to God as they engage the world and one another.
Our commitment to the families:
- Safety- We believe it is essential to provide a physical, emotional, and spiritual safe place where the children can blossom and grow.
- Fun- We strive on Sundays to give the children an experience that is fun, interactive, and creative.

Volunteers and Curriculum
Volunteers must complete an application, pass a background check, and participate in training. Only teachers must be members, small group leaders and helpers do not have to be members yet we require that they be committed in their faith. We use Hands-On Bible Curriculum® for our preschoolers and The Gospel Project® materials for children PreK-youth group. Our teachers and parents work together to follow up on the weekly memory verse and review the main biblical truth through The Gospel Project Family® app.

God’s Garden Newsletter
We have a middle school ministry that meets weekly at the Tysons service at 10:00am. However, we also have bi-monthly/quarterly social gatherings for middle-school age children attending both the Tysons and Arlington services.
Our vision is to glorify God by making Gospel-centered disciples who love, worship, and enjoy God through a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. We see this taking place by equipping parents to be the primary disciple-makers; fostering community; incorporating students into the life of the church, and encouraging them to become servant leaders who build life-changing relationships. To accomplish this we use a three-part strategy: One, we use catalytic teaching to connect them with God’s Word and to learn the Gospel. Second, we focus on consistent discipleship through parent partnership, adult mentorship, and small groups. Finally, we offer continuous missions opportunities to reach out to their friends, neighborhood, and their world. Contact Children’s Ministry Director Soojin Kim for more information.
One’s college years are vital to their spiritual formation into adulthood. GCCC is located nearby several university campuses and it is our desire to disciple our college brothers and sisters during their time Washington DC. We hope to train and equip them for future kingdom work, however God might call them.
We have a Wednesday night college small group that meets in a DC college campus. Please contact the Joe for more information.
Ride to Church
We can arrange a ride to our church service. If you would like to arrange a ride for our church service, please contact Joe. The Arlington service is metro accessible. We are located few blocks from Pentagon City Metro Station.
Family Life Ministry
Healthy marriages are fundamental to healthy families and building healthy churches. Whether you are engaged, newly married, or celebrating many years of marriage, our Family Life ministry is designed to help couples, parents and their children to connect with God, serve to His purposes and to experience His grace together. We humbly seek to provide a haven for families to be drawn together, catch a vision for families to model Christ to others and intentionally live out God’s design for marriage and family. To accomplish this, we offer a variety of opportunities to build necessary skills and receive ongoing encouragement: premarital counseling, discipleship classes, marriage enrichment workshops and family events/weekends. Please contact Pastor Steve Kim for more information.
As the Fellowship Ministry, our mission is to promote community, fellowship and fun within the church and local community through various activities and events. By partnering with our local missions ministry, we also desire to serve together helping those in need in our communities. You can follow us on our instagram account!
Some past fun-filled memories have included:
- Exploring the DC monuments by bike
- Enjoying s’mores by campfire on a crisp autumn night after completing a corn maze
- Cooling off from the summer heat with ice cream and games
- Worshiping together during praise and prayer nights
- Delighting in God’s creation on an Appalachian hike
- Adults and children gleaning kale for the Arlington Food Bank
- Beach Outing
- Meeting new friends at our annual Memorial Day & Labor Day BBQ picnics
- Friendly competition at ultimate frisbee, basketball, volleyball, and tennis
Men’s Fellowship Ministry
Our mission is to connect GCCC brothers through both social fellowship and intentional discipleship, which we call “AMP” – Accountability, Mentoring, and Prayer. This ministry is for both newcomers to plug into the church and for long-time attenders to meet new brothers and to reconnect with old ones. Look for announcements about Men’s Fellowship events throughout the year in the church bulletin, Facebook and email. For more information or to join the Men’s fellowship listserv, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Women’s Fellowship Ministry
Our mission is to foster a community of women who come together to serve God, build and strengthen one another in Christ, and show genuine faithfulness in living out a Gospel-centered life in our community. We have several events throughout the year, ranging from sharing a meal together or participating in outdoor activities. Please join our facebook page for announcements or contact Victoria at email@example.com for further information.

The Welcome Ministry seeks to warmly welcome everyone into our community of believers. Our ministry acts as a gateway for newcomers to get plugged into small groups and serving opportunities in our Arlington service. More specifically, our ministry is comprised of ushers who provide a friendly smile (and a bulletin!) to all attending our Sunday worship service. Behind the scenes, the ministry reaches out to newcomers, and that also includes a Newcomers’ Welcome Lunch at the end of every month. If you are looking to serve, the Welcome Ministry is a great place to start.
We understand that the Arlington, Maryland, and DC areas are a very transient location, and we recognize the great need for getting involved in the community. If you’re visiting, feel free to talk to us at the Welcome table when you come, or request more information. A majority of the congregation also goes out to lunch after service, so talk to one of us or anyone in the congregation if you would like to join!
Also, if you would like more information about our service or would like to receive updates and notifications via email, please sign up on our contact page!
The worship ministry at GCCC seeks to honor God through corporate praise and personal worship. The worship team leads a time of praise during the Sunday worship service, to glorify God through songs and connect with God through prayer and worship.
We also want to raise up new worship team members and new worship leaders who want to be led by the Spirit. Please contact Pastor Carl Park if you would like to join the team in Arlington or Tysons—all are welcome regardless of musical background. We look only for a heart of service and humility. The team meets every Sunday morning before service to set up equipment and practice songs.
