Hello GCCC Community,

I hope you are safe and doing well. I got to virtually visit a small group last week. They took some time to pray for a family who was facing difficulties in life. I was reminded how beautiful it is to be part of a community, where we can be encouraged and strengthened while we go through challenges. Even though we haven’t been together for a long time, I’m so thankful that many of you are choosing to stay connected to our church body. I’m confident that God is working in us both individually and corporately.

To prepare for 2021, our church leadership has established a task force to create a regathering plan for next year. This task force has seven members, including three members from our pastoral staff, an elder, a BoW member, a medical and a policy expert. Please pray for this team as they start meeting on November 9th to discuss how to best regather for next year. Pray especially for wisdom and unity as they seek God’s guidance in behalf of us.

When this team is ready, they will recommend a regathering plan to the Governance Board. Our GB will finalize and approve their recommendation then we will present this plan to our church.

Thank you for your patience and prayers during this season.

Dear GCCC Community,

Hope all of you are doing well and are adjusting to new fall rhythms. I miss being with you on Sundays and hope we can be together sooner than later. Our Elders, Board and Pastors have been meeting weekly to discuss and pray about regathering in 2021. We’ve spent much time thinking through what might be best for our church community during this season. The discussions have been thoughtful but also very time consuming. (Thank you, leaders!)

I want to invite all of you into two things during this season. One, continue to choose to stay connected and engaged with what God’s doing. Be present at our online/outdoor services. Be there for your small groups. Participate in other events to keep your life with God vibrant. Two, please join our leadership in prayer as we seek God during this season. We don’t want to miss out on what God has for us because of fear or anything else. We want to choose into life and mission God has for us even during the pandemic. Please pray with us especially about when and how to regather in 2021.

I look forward to seeing you online or in person during our Missions Weekend!
