1. What is one positive and one negative characteristic you associate with fathers (based on culture or personal experiences)? Is that a characteristic you associate with God our Father? How do you figure out whether or not to associate a culturally/personally held characteristic of fathers with God?
2. Read Matthew 6:1-9. What does Jesus tell us to call God?
3. What is a characteristic of God our Father that Jesus emphasizes in these verses (see v.4, 6, 8)? How do these shape the way we think about prayer and actually pray?
