This season continues to be a challenging and stretching one. Many of the ways that we are used to reaching out to people have become untenable at this time. However, we believe that God is still on the move. We believe that there are still ways for us to serve, connect, and engage with the world around us. We believe that one of the ways we will do this as a church is to participate in a global and local outreach this season. These are practical ways we can act out our faith to care for those in our community and help support the work of Christ around the world. We encourage you to join us as we seek to participate with what Christ is doing.
Help us support our partners in Spain. They have a great vision of using a café to reach people for Jesus. Unfortunately covid-19 has made that vision hard to realize. The need to keep the café sustainable, is preventing some of the hopes they had for kingdom impact. Would you pray about what God may have you give to support this ministry? We will be receiving donations through November 15th. We are hoping to raise $30k as a church. If 100 of us invest $300 we will make our goal. You can give through the church by marking Spain team in the memo. Together we can help this vision become a reality and see people come to know Jesus.
We have an opportunity to help some of those impacted by covid-19. The Fairfax county health department has asked us if we would be able to help them care for people who have contracted covid-19. Specifically, they would like us to provide cleaning supplies for them. These supplies will be going to people who need to quarantine but do not have the means to acquire all the supplies needed to quarantine following health guidelines. We will be collecting supplies until November 15. If you would like to help please drop off or ship some of the following items to the Thornton’s at 4280 Park Green Ct. Fairfax, VA 22030.
- Disinfectant sprays (such as Lysol, Clorox, etc)
- Disinfectant wipes
- Paper towels or fabric towels/rags (for people to wipe down counters and surfaces with)
- Surface cleaners (such as PineSol, etc)
