Happening now at Arlington
Sunday Service begins at 11:00am at the DoubleTree Hotel in the Washington Ballroom on the lobby floor. We periodically have virtual service only when DoubleTree cannot accommodate us. Location changes will always be listed on our website and through social media.
What to Expect
We dress casually, so feel free to come as you are!
During our worship, we pray together, sing together, hear stories from people in the church community, speak Christian Scripture together, and hear a sermon based on that Scripture together. We have three goals in our worship:
- To encounter God’s Spirit
- To tell the story of God
- To be formed to think and love as God does
We invite you to participate from your heart, even if you’re new (or new again) to Jesus and the church, even if you’re not sure about some things about Jesus, even if you feel like there’s a right way to worship that you don’t know how to do. We invite you to sing with us, pray with us, and listen with us, because God invites us all to these things.
Families with newborns (under one-year-old), those who are handicapped, and first-time visitors, are welcome to make use of our complimentary parking garage vouchers. All others may request a $5 validated garage parking voucher. There is a limited amount, so please make sure you get your voucher before leaving service. Please use your original parking ticket to exit, then use the voucher as payment (or reduced payment). Please see an usher at the Welcome table for the voucher. If for some reason your parking pass does not work and you have to pay the full amount, please keep your receipt and bring it to the welcoming desk the following week to request a reimbursement for the amount paid.
There is free parking at the underground Public Parking garage located just south of the intersection of 12th St. and 14th Rd.
There is free street parking along the perimeter of the hotel. All metered parking around the hotel is free on Sundays (e.g., S Eads St. S Fern St, 12th St, Army Navy Drive, etc.).
There are public parking lots directly across from the Residence Inn and DoubleTree Hotel on Army Navy Drive, in front of the Pentagon, that is open to the public on Sundays.
The DoubleTree Hotel is located off the yellow and blue lines at the Pentagon City Metro Station. The church is 4 blocks away (about 10-minute walk).
Kids & Nursery
For more information on Regathering and God’s Garden at Arlington please read the FAQ portion in our Regathering Plan. We hope the following helps your family plan for your first visit to GCCC. For specific questions about God’s Garden, email firstname.lastname@example.org
When you arrive, head to the God’s Garden check-in table, in the lobby. To ensure your child’s safety we check every child in, in the lobby and again in their classroom or small group. When the service is over we only release children when they have been checked out by a parent. If this is your first time at GCCC, we will ask for your family’s information so we can get to know you better.
Where does my child go after check-in?
Once you check in, we will let you know which rooms we are meeting in.
We begin in Large Group, where we gather together in a big group and have fun worshiping Jesus, dancing, singing, exploring the Bible together, and building community.
After Large Group, we head to Small Groups. In Small Groups, children have space to process the Biblical narrative together and explore age-appropriate ways to apply God’s Word. We understand children process what they learn through play so we build in time for crafts, games, and STEM.
What if my child needs me during the service?
If your child needs you during the service, we will text you and ask you to come to their location. To ensure your child’s safety we will ask you to come and change their diaper if needed during the service. Nursing moms are welcome to nurse in the main meeting room or in the nursery, whichever if easiest for your family.
